M.O.B.A. Group Cruise FAQs

⚓️ Common Cruise Logistics

  •  When and where is the cruise?
    • March 16-21, 2026
    • Departs New Orleans
  • What destinations/ports are we visiting?
    • Cozumel
    • Progreso, Yucatan
  • Do I need a passport?
    • For certain cruises that begin and end in the same U.S port; 
    • U.S.-born citizens may also use a birth certificate (issued by a government agency or Department of Health and Vital Statistics) and accompanied by government-issued photo ID; a Mobile/Digital version of a photo ID is not an acceptable form of identification.
    • Carnival highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport book. The passport book must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel.

  •  What’s the deposit, and when is it due?
    • $50 deposit due per person at time of booking to secure your spot.
    • Full deposit of $150 per person due by August 2, 2026 *or* at time of booking to select your room. 
  •  How much will it cost in total?
    • M.O.B.A. Group Rate (double occupancy) can be viewed HERE. 
      • For single, triple, or quad occupancy, reach out to Cheryl at cheryl@abcdadventures.com for assistance.
  • Can I get a payment plan? How does it work?
    • After the initial deposit, guests can make payments as they like with the full and final payment being due December 17, 2026. 
  •  Are there single occupancy options?
    • Single occupancy price varies by cabin style and ranges between $1,202-$2,522.* 

*As of July 8, 2025 and prices are not guaranteed without deposit. 

  • Can I choose my cabin, or will it be assigned?
    • Cheryl will do her best to get you the room/deck you prefer. Please keep in mind that availability varies based on time of booking.
  • Can I bring my spouse/kids/friends?
    • The M.O.B.A. Cruise is an adults-only sailing and we are unable to accommodate children for this group cruise. However, you are welcome to bring your spouse or a friend who is not directly part of the MOBA group if you would like them to join you on this adults-only getaway.

  • What activities will MOBA have on the cruise?
    • TBD
  • Is there a set schedule we have to follow with MOBA?
    • No! This is an amazing opportunity to enjoy the cruise with the knowledge that you have friends onboard! While there may be some M.O.B.A. group meet-ups, you are not required to attend. 
  • What if I just want to relax and not attend the group parts?
    • Totally fine! 
  • Who is organizing and will be our main contact?
    • Sheri will be your contact for all things M.O.B.A. and Cheryl will be your contact for all things travel-related.
  •  Can I room with another MOBA member to save money?
    • Yes! It's typically cost-effective to have a roommate, as most pricing favors double occupancy.

        • Sodas, Zero-Proof frozen cocktails, energy drinks, specialty coffee, hot tea, 500ml bottled water and other non-alcoholic bottled beverages
        • Packaged water in the Dining Room and Specialty Restaurants
      • Bottomless Bubbles (Soda Package)-$11.21 per person per day. 

*On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person.

During embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Port, Vermouth, Sherry and other fortified wines, over 15% alcohol by volume (ABV), cannot be brought on board.

  • Is Wi-Fi available on the ship?
    • Yes for purchase: ranges from $18.70-$23.80 per person per day. 
    • Premium Multi Device (up to 4 devices)- Starts at $84 per person per day.
  • What activities are on the ship for downtime?
    • Carnival has a daily list available of activities around the ship. This can include: Crafts, Games, Music (Karaoke), BINGO, Shows, etc. *Some activities (BINGO) may have an extra charge.
  • What happens if I get seasick?
    • Bring over-the-counter remedies like Dramamine, Bonine, or SeaBands. Some guests also find ginger chews helpful. (Some medication may be available onboard but the price is usually higher than if purchased on shore.)
    • Visit Guest Services or the Medical Center on board. They often provide complimentary seasickness medication if needed.
    • Stay hydrated and get fresh air. Focusing on the horizon and spending time outside can help ease symptoms.
    • Choose mid-ship, lower-deck areas for stability if you feel uneasy.
  • Are there fitness or wellness facilities onboard?
    • Yes! Fitness Center is included. Fitness classes vary and some may have additional costs.
    • There is a Spa as well. Spa does have extra costs.

    • Yes! 
  • What is the cancellation policy?

    • Final Payment is due 12/17/2025
  • Are there travel insurance options? Should I get it?
    • Travel Insurance is highly recommended. Since insurance needs vary by person, it is up to each person to determine which policy best suits their needs. Cheryl is not a licensed Travel Insurance provider, but will be happy to assist in any way she can. 
  • Are there discounts for military, seniors, or Carnival past guests?
    • Possibly. If you are military, senior, or a Carnival past guest, let Cheryl know, and she will see if any discounts can be applied.

🏖️ Travel Details

  • Do I need to arrive in New Orleans the day before?
    • It is highly recommended to arrive the day before departure in case of any travel delays. 
  •  What hotel options are nearby?
    • Cheryl can assist with any hotel accommodations needed. 
  • How do I get to the port from the airport or hotel?
    • Some hotels may offer transport to cruise port. 
    • Ubers/Lyft/Taxis are also an option. 
  • What time should I arrive for embarkation?
    • Each cruiser will get a time to arrive for embarkation. (Sometimes you get to pick your time, but not always.) 
    • The last embarkation time slot is usually 2 hours before departure time.

    • Yes! Check out the M.O.B.A. Group Cruise Facebook page to meet others going on the cruise, get information on: the ship, ports, activities, etc.

  • Will there be theme nights or dress codes onboard?
    • Yes! Usually for 5 night cruises:
      Dress-up theme nights: one 80s Rock'n'Glow and one Elegant Evening
      Events (dress-up optional): one 90s Night and one Superhero Night
  • Can I get help booking flights if needed?
    • Yes! Cheryl will happily help anyone who needs assistance with flights. 
  • What if I have dietary restrictions?
    • Please let Cheryl know of any dietary restrictions. 
  • Is the ship wheelchair accessible?
    • Yes! Please let Cheryl know if you will use any mobility devices so she can get you the most up-to-date information.
